1. Definition of Narrative Text
A narrative text is a type of text that tells a story or describes a series of events, either real or imaginary, to entertain, inform, or teach a moral lesson to the readers.
2. Function of Narrative Text
To entertain the readers or listeners.
To tell a story about past events or experiences.
To teach moral values or life lessons.
3. Structure of Narrative Text
Orientation: Introduction of the characters, setting, and time.
Complication: The problem(s) that arise in the story.
Resolution: The solution to the problem.
(Optional) Re-orientation/Coda: The ending of the story, sometimes with a moral message.
4. Narrative Text Based on My Experience
Title: My Experience in Growing Chili Plants
Last year, I decided to grow chili plants in my backyard because my mother loves to cook with fresh chilies. At first, it was quite challenging. The seeds grew slowly, and sometimes the leaves turned yellow. One day, heavy rain almost destroyed the small plants.
I watered the plants regularly, protected them from heavy rain, and gave them natural fertilizer. Slowly, the plants grew taller and produced many red chilies. From this experience, I learned that patience and care are important when growing plants
